Molecular sieve manufacturer talks about the role of molecular sieve in air purification
At present, the air purifiers used in domestic air separation plants can be divided into vertical and horizontal types according to the placement mode. The structural forms include single bed and double bed. The advantage of vertical air purifiers is that they cover a small area, while the structure of horizontal air purifiers is relatively simple, but they cover a large area, which limits their application. The adsorbent used in single bed is molecular sieve, which is responsible for adsorbing harmful components such as water, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, etc. Next,
molecular sieve manufacturer will talk about the application of molecular sieve in air purification:
(1) Alumina can adsorb acidic components in the air (such as SO2, NO2, hcl, etc.
(2) The affinity of molecular sieve to water is stronger than that of alumina, so more energy is consumed in the desorption process. The energy consumption of regeneration can be reduced by using alumina to remove water.
(3) Replacing water absorbing molecular sieve with alumina can save costs, because the price of alumina is much cheaper than that of molecular sieve. In the air with 100% relative humidity (i.e. saturated), the moisture absorption performance of activated alumina is better than that of molecular sieve. After the water in the saturated air is adsorbed by the alumina in the lower layer of the adsorption bed, the water concentration in the alumina decreases, and then the upper layer of molecular sieve is used for deep adsorption.
