Molecular sieve manufacturer: How should molecular sieve be stored?
Molecular sieve (also called synthetic zeolite) is a microporous aluminosilicate crystal, which is mainly used in gas purification, petrochemical industry, refrigeration, automobile, building glass, medicine, coating, packaging and other fields. Molecular sieve has a large specific surface area of 300-1000m2/g, and its internal crystal surface is highly polarized. It is a highly effective adsorbent and solid acid. The surface has high acid concentration and acid strength, which can produce positive carbon. Because molecular sieve has such characteristics, storage has always been a concern of manufacturers. What should we pay attention to when storing?
molecular sieve manufacturer answers for you!
1. Molecular sieve has strong hygroscopicity. It should not be directly exposed to the air during storage, but should be placed in a dry place. Molecular sieves stored for a long time and hygroscopic shall be regenerated before use.
2. Molecular sieve shall avoid oil and liquid water. Oil will block the pores of molecular sieve, especially in the regeneration process, it may carbonize the oil, causing the pores to be blocked. Oil gas and oil water separation should be carried out in front of the molecular sieve tower. As molecular sieve will release heat when absorbing water, liquid water will release a lot of heat when directly contacting molecular sieve, which may cause danger or damage the performance of molecular sieve.
3. When switching molecular sieve under pressure, slowly reduce the pressure in the tower. For example, if the pressure decreases too fast, the molecular sieve particles may be broken and crushed. The higher the regeneration temperature, the safer the regeneration, but the greater the regeneration energy consumption, which affects the life of the molecular sieve. Therefore, the regeneration temperature should preferably be 200~350 ℃. The regeneration temperature generally does not exceed 600 ℃, otherwise the molecular sieve may lose its activity.
